Music has been around me from the day I was born as my dad is guitar virtuoso and Latvian rock musician Johnny Salamander. Having such a great mentor gave me the opportunity to fast track some of my own musical development and by the age of 13 I’d become active on the festival circuit and had started winning national competitions alongside my band. As a 14 year old, I’d started to have my own compositions played on national radio and TV before finding fame in the Eurovision Song Contest playing in a duo alongside my dad. From early on I was a hard worker with intense studies in the day, rehearsals and PR duties in the afternoon and late shows every weekend. During this time I played approximately 500 shows over a 4 year period.
My story so far...
In my late teens I moved to the UK to gain the BA(hons) in Music Performance at ACM in Guildford and was lucky enough to work alongside with various musicians playing at London’s Wembley Stadium and the Key Club in Los Angeles as a session guitarist and vocalist for acts such as Ce Lo Green, N Dubz star Dappy and numerous others.
Into my twenties, I signed with new management and moved to Los Angeles for a two year period where I worked as a Songwriter which specialised in the sync market. Having been lucky enough to become experienced in this field in LA at that time gave me the opportunity to have gained various placements into TV programs on various cable networks. I also got to work with a wide variety of Grammy award winning writers & producers who taught me a great deal.
In 2014, I returned to the UK and co-founded pop publishing & production company "The Song Lab" together with creative director Jonny Amos. Currently I am working on my new album due to be released in late 2015.
